Nissan Drops New TV Spot to Support “Midnight Edition” Package
Nissan recently launched a new TV spot (embedded below) to support their “Midnight Edition” trim package, a bundle that brings together a collection of popular visual upgrades and serves them up for Altima, Maxima, Murano, Pathfinder, Rogue, and Sentra models.
The TV spot in question features a girl riding a blacked-out big wheel — with black motorcycle helmet — cruising down the sidewalk, as the inspiration for her vehicle modifications slowly rolls into view: Her mother, driving a black “Midnight Edition”-equipped Nissan Rogue, backed up by the song “Black Sheep” by Gin Wigmore.
According to Nissan, the package includes black exterior accents, black aluminum wheels, black spoiler, black floor mats, and black mirror caps. The original Midnight Edition package was solely offered on the Nissan Maxima, but the popularity of the options convinced Nissan to offer it for other vehicles in its stable.
In a statement supporting the announcement earlier this year, Christian Meunier, senior vice president, Nissan Sales & Marketing and Operations, Nissan North America, Inc. and chairman of Nissan Canada touted the appeal of the offering. “The idea of expanding the availability of the Midnight Edition package was driven by customers who loved the blackout treatment on Maxima SR and asked for it to be available on other popular Nissan vehicles,” said Meunier. “The six models offering Midnight Edition packages account for more than 75 percent of our U.S. sales, so we think they will find a receptive audience.”
Nissan also is offering discounts on the packages when compared to separately-purchased equipment, so prospective Nissan owners with a penchant for black should give this package a look.
